BOTTLE SORTING - Friday - October 20, 2017 - Our PAC will be sorting drink containers both of these days. LOTS of help will be needed. Please come to the awning behind Alpine Signs & Graphics (Santa Rosa Road) at 10 am on Friday - October 20, 2017.. Students can earn volunteer hours toward their block letter.
STUDENT PHOTOS - Individual student photos were taken on Monday, October 2. Preview portraits will be available in approximately two weeks. A second photo day will be held on Monday, October 30 for students who missed the first session or wish to have their portrait retaken. Re-takes must be pre-paid. Please click here or call the school office. ***For best results, please do not wear green or solid white shirts.
STUDENT ABSENCES - We ask parents to please call the school when students are going to be absent at 250-447-9423. If calling before office hours please leave a message. Thank you for your assistance.
MOVED? NEW PHONE NUMBER? ALLERGIES OR MEDICAL CONDITIONS? - We must have up-to-date information in order to contact parents in an emergency. Please call or email the school office if you have changed addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. Also, please let us know if there has been a change to your child's health or home situation that the school needs to be aware of.

BC TRAINING & EDUCATION GRANT - Families in British Columbia are encouraged to start planning and saving early for their children’s post-secondary education or training programs. To help, the B.C. Government will contribute $1,200 to eligible children through the B.C. Training and Education Savings Grant (BCTESG). Click here for more information.
School District No. 51 Board of Education Meeting Dates:
NO NUTS PLEASE - We have students with life-threatening nut and peanut allergies in the school. As such, we ask parents to please send nut-free lunches/snacks for their children. Thank you for helping keep our students safe.
WALK-WHEEL TO SCHOOL SAFELY - Walk-Wheel to School Week is October 2-5. Students can earn points for their House team by walking or wheeling to school. Below are safety tips for walking/wheeling safely:

FREE CRIMINAL RECORDS SEARCHES AVAILABLE - Criminal record searches are required for those who are helping with children in the school. Parents and volunteers are now able to enter and submit criminal record searches online free of charge. Please contact Mrs. Bartlett for more information.

HEAD LICE - Please check your child's head for lice and nits on a daily and weekly basis. (Students should be lice-free and nit-free at school.) Interior Health's website has information on how to check for and treat head lice:

BUS INFORMATION - Please send a note with your child if he/she will be getting off at a different stop, taking a different bus, or taking the bus if he/she is not a regular bus student. Your child must bring the note to the school office so that a Bus Permission Form may be completed by office staff for the bus driver.
BUS COLOURS - Our district school buses display specific colours for each route. The colour bars are displayed immediately to the rear of the entrance door and under the first passenger window. The colours are as follows:
RED - Route 5 (East Christina Lake, Grand Forks) - spare driver
PURPLE - Route 6 (Christina Lake, Ponderosa, Valley Hts) - Debbie Dierckens
BUY LOW TILL TAPES / CANADIAN TIRE MONEY - CLES has collection boxes at the school office for Buy Low till tapes and Canadian Tire money. The funds from these are used for student snacks/lunches and outdoor play equipment.
NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION - Please bring a completed registration form (click here) your child's birth certificate, BC care card to the CLES office along with a copy of your BC Driver's Licence, care card and utility bill.
VOLUNTEERS - We are very fortunate at CLES to have so many supportive families. In keeping with district policy and in order to keep our children as safe as possible, we must receive criminal record checks and signed volunteer policy forms from those who are assisting in the school with our students. We realize this may be an inconvenience to some and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. Free, online criminal record searches are available for our school volunteers. Please contact the school office if you would like to receive instructions how to complete the online search.
