History of John A. Hutton Elementary School
John A. Hutton Elementary School's official opening occurred on September 23, 1964. Our School was named in honour of John A. Hutton who served in many capacities for the city of Grand Forks and for many years as a School Board Trustee. At that time, Hutton School consisted of 4 rooms. Today, through renovations, we house 12 classrooms, a large office area, a superb library, a computer room, a full size gym, with stage, a Fine Arts portable and we are home to the Hutton StrongStart program. Our school population has changed throughout the years but the one thing that never changes is our Staff's dedication toward our students. Our goal is to provide our students with the best in education and help them to achieve their personal "best". |
