WEATHER - The weather is changing fast - please make sure your child comes to school with appropriate outdoor winter wear every day for the cold and wet weather.
POINSETTIA FUNDRAISER - Poinsettia's will be ready for pick up tomorrow, December 6th in the library.
REPORT CARDS- Report Cards have gone home last Thursday with students. The format for the report cards has changed. Please feel free to give your child's teacher any feedback on this new format that you may have.
PURDY'S FUNDRAISER - If you have ordered Purdy's chocolates, they will be ready for pick up on Tuesday, December 13th.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR - Mrs. Sebastian is having the annual Scholastic Book Fair once again this year. Come out and check out the great selection of books and novelty items that will be for sale. All proceeds from the Book Fair will stay in our library. The hours for the book fair are:

CHRISTMAS CONCERT - Our Christmas concert this year is "I Need a Little Chrismas Vacation". We are having two concerts again this year, the first on Tuesday, December 13th at 2:00 pm and the second on Wednesday, December 14th at 10:00 am.

WINTER VACATION - The last day of school before winter vacation is Thursday, December 22nd. Students do not return back to school until Monday, January 9, 2017.
PERLEY PAC - The next Perley PAC meeting is on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 6:45. All parents are invited to attend. There will be no PAC meeting in December.

STUDENT ABSENCES - We ask parents to please call the school when students are going to be absent at 250-442-2135. If calling before office hours please leave a message. Thank you for your assistance.
UP-TO-DATE CONTACT INFORMATION - Please make sure that the school has your proper contact information. If you have moved, changed your phone number or your family circumstances have changed, please let the school know, as this is important information to have on file in case of an emergency.
VOLUNTEERS - Thank you for volunteering in your child's classroom, or around the school. However, in keeping with district policy and in order to keep our students safe, we must ask those who are assisting in the school with our students to obtain a Criminal Record Check. Criminal Record Checks can now be obtained online free of charge. Please come to the school office for more information.
COLOURED SCHOOL BUSES - The District school buses will now display specific colours for each route. The colour bars will be displayed immediately to the rear of the entrance door and under the first passenger window. The colours are as follows:

HEAD LICE - Please check your child's hair on a weekly basis, and if necessary on a daily basis, for head lice. Click here to get to Interior Health's website for information on how to check and treat head lice. There are also some great videos on youtube on head lice.
.PERLEY STRONGSTART at the Glanville Family Centre - StrongStart is a free program and available to children not yet eligible for Kindergarten. A parent or care provider must be in attendance. AIR QUALITY ALERT - If our school receives an Air Quality Alert, parents can request that their children remain indoors on those days. The school will declare these days "in-door choice days" for students. Contact your child's classroom teacher if you have any particular requests for your child on these days.
SCHOOL GROWTH PLAN - At Perley this year we are focusing on trying to reduce the anxiety some students have at school. It is difficult to focus on learning when students are anxious or struggling emotionally, so we are working as a staff with several programs and strategies to help more students feel regulated and happy at school.
BUS PERMISSION SLIPS - A reminder to parents that if their child will be riding a different bus or getting off at a different stop, other than their assigned stop, the Office must receive a note from a parent or guardian with full details. The Office Administration will complete a "Bus Permission" slip for the student to give to the bus driver for that particular day.
