SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR - The Library is putting on a Scholastic Book Fair on the following days: Monday, December 9th - 3:15 - 4:00
Tuesday, December 10th - 8:00-11:30 and 2:00-5:30
Wednesday, December 11th - 8:00-9:30 and 1:30-4:30
There will be lots of books and novelties to choice from. All money raised from the Book Fair will stay in the library. Thanks for your support!!
RAFFLE BASKETS- Our Perley PAC have put together 35 great baskets from items donated through local merchants. Tickets are on sale before school and at lunch time. Tickets are 25 cents each or 5 for $1.00. The raffle draw will be held on December 17th.
COINS FOR THE FOOD BANK - Mr. McKinlay's Grade 6/7 class is having a coin drive for "Coins for the Food Bank". Students are encouraged to bring spare change to deposit into their classroom coin jars. All the coins collected will be rolled and the money spent to purchase food for the Food Bank.
WINTER HAS ARRIVED - Please make sure that your child arrives to school with full winter gear (coat, gloves, hat, boots). Students will be outside before/after school, and during lunch and recess.
LOST & FOUND - Our "Lost and Found" is overflowing. If your child is missing any clothing items, please come and check out the two lost and founds by the office and library.
GRADE 4 & 5 SNOWPASS - The Canadian Ski Council's SnowPass lets you ski and board three times at each participating ski area for $29.95. Click here for more information and how to apply online for a pass.
STUDENT ABSENCES - We ask parents to please call the school when students are going to be absent at 250-442-2135. If calling before office hours please leave a message. Thank you for your assistance.
UP-TO-DATE CONTACT INFORMATION - Please make sure that the school has your proper contact information. If you have moved, changed your phone number or your family circumstances have changed, please let the school know, as this is important information to have on file in case of an emergency.
VOLUNTEERS - Thank you for volunteering in your child's classroom, or around the school. However, in keeping with district policy and in order to keep our students safe, we must ask those who are assisting in the school with our students to obtain a Criminal Record Check (form available at the office). There is a $20.00 fee for this payable directly at the RCMP station when you drop off your Criminal Record Check form.
COLOURED SCHOOL BUSES - The District school buses will now display specific colours for each route. The colour bars will be displayed immediately to the rear of the entrance door and under the first passenger window. The colours are as follows:
GREEN - Route 1 (Eholt, Carson, Reservoir) - Rick Kost
WHITE - Route 3 (North Fork, Brown Creek, Granby) - Pete Kootnekoff
BROWN - Route 4 (Almond Gardens) - Debbie Dierckens
BLUE - Route 2 (Almond Gardens, Gilpin, Nursery, Hardy Mountain) - Joanne Rooke
RED - Route 5 (Texas Point, Christina Lake, Grand Forks) - Darryl Hunt
PURPLE - Route 6 (Valley Heights, Christina Lake, Ponderosa) - Tamara Clark
HEAD LICE - Please check your child's hair on a weekly basis, and if necessary on a daily basis, for head lice. Click here to get to Interior Health's website for information on how to check and treat head lice. There are also some great videos on youtube on head lice.
.PERLEY STRONGSTART at the Glanville Family Centre - StrongStart is a free program and available to children not yet eligible for Kindergarten. A parent or care provider must be in attendance. AIR QUALITY ALERT - If our school receives an Air Quality Alert, parents can request that their children remain indoors on those days. The school will declare these days "in-door choice days" for students. Contact your child's classroom teacher if you have any particular requests for your child on these days.
SCHOOL GROWTH PLAN - To develop all students' ability to take responsibility for their learning and be inspired to strive for their personal best in all aspects of their lives.
BUS PERMISSION SLIPS - A reminder to parents that if their child will be riding a different bus or getting off at a different stop, other than their assigned stop, the Office must receive a note from a parent or guardian with full details. The Office Administration will complete a "Bus Permission" slip for the student to give to the bus driver for that particular day.
