INDIVIDUAL STUDENT PHOTOS - Individual student photos have arrived and have been sent home with your child. You have two ordering options:
1. You may order online with your Portrait ID # and Access Code # that has been assigned to your child on their order form.
2. Complete the order form and return it to school with payment by October 30, 2014.
Take advantage of the Family Plan if you have more than two children at Perley School. The Family Plan is not available on line.
Photo retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, November 4th, for students who missed the origianl picture day, or you are not happy with your child's picture and would like a retake.
BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING - The next Board of Education Meeting is on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the School Board Office.
REMEMBRANCE DAY - All schools in the District will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th for Remembrance Day. Schools will be in session on Friday, November 14th. This will also be our Pizza Day.
POINSETTIA PAC FUNDRAISER - The PAC is having their 5th annual Poinsettia Fundraiser. This is a great school fundraiser and all the money raised this year will go towards the Vancouver Aquarium 's Aqua Van which will becoming to Perley school in the springtime. Please click here for the price list & order form. All orders must be returned to school by November 20th for a December 2nd pickup. Please help support this great fundraiser!!

PAC FUNDRAISER - PLEASE KEEP BUYING GIFT CARDS - If you shop at Overwaitea or Buy Low buy a gift card to purchase your items and our Perley PAC receives a percentage of the gift card. Just say the gift card purchase is for the Perley PAC. We have received over the summer months $1,068.25 from Overwaitea and $740.00 from Buy Low, for a total of $1,808.25 from these gift card purchases - what a great way to help Perley School raise money!!
STUDENT ABSENCES - We ask parents to please call the school when students are going to be absent at 250-442-2135. If calling before office hours please leave a message. Thank you for your assistance.
UP-TO-DATE CONTACT INFORMATION - Please make sure that the school has your proper contact information. If you have moved, changed your phone number or your family circumstances have changed, please let the school know, as this is important information to have on file in case of an emergency.
VOLUNTEERS - Thank you for volunteering in your child's classroom, or around the school. However, in keeping with district policy and in order to keep our students safe, we must ask those who are assisting in the school with our students to obtain a Criminal Record Check. Criminal Record Checks can now be obtained online free of charge. Please come to the school office for more information.
COLOURED SCHOOL BUSES - The District school buses will now display specific colours for each route. The colour bars will be displayed immediately to the rear of the entrance door and under the first passenger window. The colours are as follows:
GREEN - Route 1 (Eholt, Carson, Reservoir) - Rick Kost
WHITE - Route 3 (North Fork, Brown Creek, Granby) - Pete Kootnekoff
BROWN - Route 4 (Almond Gardens) - Debbie Dierckens
BLUE - Route 2 (Almond Gardens, Gilpin, Nursery, Hardy Mountain) - Joanne Rooke
RED - Route 5 (Texas Point, Christina Lake, Grand Forks) - Darryl Hunt
PURPLE - Route 6 (Valley Heights, Christina Lake, Ponderosa) - Tamara Clark
HEAD LICE - Please check your child's hair on a weekly basis, and if necessary on a daily basis, for head lice. Click here to get to Interior Health's website for information on how to check and treat head lice. There are also some great videos on youtube on head lice.
.PERLEY STRONGSTART at the Glanville Family Centre - StrongStart is a free program and available to children not yet eligible for Kindergarten. A parent or care provider must be in attendance. AIR QUALITY ALERT - If our school receives an Air Quality Alert, parents can request that their children remain indoors on those days. The school will declare these days "in-door choice days" for students. Contact your child's classroom teacher if you have any particular requests for your child on these days.
SCHOOL GROWTH PLAN - To develop all students' ability to take responsibility for their learning and be inspired to strive for their personal best in all aspects of their lives.
BUS PERMISSION SLIPS - A reminder to parents that if their child will be riding a different bus or getting off at a different stop, other than their assigned stop, the Office must receive a note from a parent or guardian with full details. The Office Administration will complete a "Bus Permission" slip for the student to give to the bus driver for that particular day.
