Magazine - The PAC has sent home an envelope and letter with information on how to order, or renew, magazine subscriptions. There are hundreds of magazines with savings of up to 80% off newsstand prices. Please check this great fundraiser out. Magazine orders are due into the office by November 27th.

Passport to the Kootenays - Our Grade 7's are selling "Passport to the Kootenay" booklets for $45.00. There are hundred of coupons that can be used in this booklet locally and all through the Kootenays. If you would like to purchase a book, please see a Perley Grade 7 student, or you may purchase (view) one at the office.

VOLLEYBALL - Volleyball has started with Mr. Vanlerberg coaching the Grade 6/7's and Mr. Chapman and Mr. McKinlay coaching the Grade 4/5's. Practices will be at lunch time and a few games after school. There will be a Grade 6/7 volleyball playday the afternoon on Thursday, November 27th at Greenwood Elementary and also the afternoon of Wedneday, December 3rd at GFSS/Perley.\

CHRISTMAS CONCERT - "The Xmas Files" - Students have started practicing for this years Christmas Concert - the theme is "The Xmas Files". The Christmas Concert dates are Tuesday, December 9th at 10:00 and Wednesday, December 10th at 2:00. There will be a dress rehearsal on Monday, December 8th at 9:45.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR - Mrs. Sebastian, our librarian, is once again putting on a Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair will coincide with our Perley Christmas Concert, being Monday, December 8th to Wednesday, December 10th. Specific times will be sent home with students at a later date. We are looking for volunteers to help with the set up/take down and sales - if you can help, please contact the office at 442-2135.

PAC MEETING - The next PAC meeting is set for Monday, January 19th at 6:45. All parents are welcome to attend these meetings. To view PAC minutes, please click on the PAC tab up above.

CITIZENSHIP AWARDS - Students who received Citizenship Awards for the month of November are: Ethan Laktin, Alicia Savitskoff, Bodhi Sands, Logan Jorgensen-Soobotin, Marcus Perkins and Cole Demenoff. These are students who have been outstanding citizens at Perley School.

GRADE 4/5 SNOWPASS - The grade 4/5 students have all received a flyer explaining the snowpass program and how to sign up for a pass, or you can go to their website at for more information.

PAC FUNDRAISER - PLEASE KEEP BUYING GIFT CARDS - If you shop at Overwaitea or Buy Low buy a gift card to purchase your items and our Perley PAC receives a percentage of the gift card. Just say the gift card purchase is for the Perley PAC.  We have received over the summer months $1,068.25 from Overwaitea and $740.00 from Buy Low, for a total of $1,808.25 from these gift card purchases - what a great way to help Perley School raise money!! 

STUDENT ABSENCES - We ask parents to please call the school when students are going to be absent at 250-442-2135. If calling before office hours please leave a message. Thank you for your assistance.

shpeki2UP-TO-DATE CONTACT INFORMATION - Please make sure that the school has your proper contact information. If you have moved, changed your phone number or your family circumstances have changed, please let the school know, as this is important information to have on file in case of an emergency.

dVOLUNTEERS - Thank you for volunteering in your child's classroom, or around the school. However, in keeping with district policy and in order to keep our students safe, we must ask those who are assisting in the school with our students to obtain a Criminal Record Check. Criminal Record Checks can now be obtained online free of charge.  Please come to the school office for more information.

shpeki2COLOURED SCHOOL BUSES - The District school buses will now display specific colours for each route. The colour bars will be displayed immediately to the rear of the entrance door and under the first passenger window. The colours are as follows:
     GREEN - Route 1 (Eholt, Carson, Reservoir) - Rick Kost
     WHITE - Route 3 (North Fork, Brown Creek, Granby) - Pete Kootnekoff
     BROWN - Route 4 (Almond Gardens) - Debbie Dierckens
     BLUE - Route 2 (Almond Gardens, Gilpin, Nursery, Hardy Mountain) - Joanne Rooke
     RED - Route 5 (Texas Point, Christina Lake, Grand Forks) - Darryl Hunt

shpeki2HEAD LICE - Please check your child's hair on a weekly basis, and if necessary on a daily basis, for head lice. Click here to get to Interior Health's website for information on how to check and treat head lice.  There are also some great videos on youtube on head lice.

.PERLEY STRONGSTART at the Glanville Family Centre - StrongStart is a free program and available to children not yet eligible for Kindergarten. A parent or care provider must be in attendance. AIR QUALITY ALERT - If our school receives an Air Quality Alert, parents can request that their children remain indoors on those days. The school will declare these days "in-door choice days" for students. Contact your child's classroom teacher if you have any particular requests for your child on these days.

SCHOOL GROWTH PLAN - To develop all students' ability to take responsibility for their learning and be inspired to strive for their personal best in all aspects of their lives.

BUS PERMISSION SLIPS - A reminder to parents that if their child will be riding a different bus or getting off at a different stop, other than their assigned stop, the Office must receive a note from a parent or guardian with full details. The Office Administration will complete a "Bus Permission" slip for the student to give to the bus driver for that particular day.
