The new Teacher-Librarian, Alison Macmaster, is ready to welcome students during library hours starting Tuesday, September 18th:
The library will be open from 8:00 am – morning bell on Monday (Day 1), Tuesday (Day 2), and Thursday (Day 4)

Students also have opportunities to exchange books during Open Book Exchange after lunch on Monday (Day 1), Tuesday (Day 2), and Wednesday (Day 3)

Each class has a library block during the week where they will have opportunities to learn and do activities in the library. See your child’s teacher or Ms. Macmaster to find out when. Please help support your child’s love of reading by talking about opportunities to visit the library!

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL : Please review SD51's Policy regarding having medication at school. In short:
"The School Administration is trying to maintain uniform, safe and
efficient ways of dispensing medications at school. If your child
requires medication at school and you have not completed the required
form, "Request for Administration of Medication at School, (Form
MA01) it is imperative that you do so. This form is available upon
request from your child's school. The school cannot administer any
medication unless this form is completed. Please have the form
completed by the doctor prescribing the medication for your child, sign
the form yourself and return it to the School Administrator as soon as
possible."
As per SD51 Policy No 4010. Section 5 - "School staff are not to administer non prescribed medication or provide any medical services other than first aid, to any student."
To review the whole policy, please click here.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. All visitors* must sign in at the office during school hours
  2. Exterior doors will be locked during school time.  If you need in the building please use the office entrance to the school.
  3. For pick-up of students (ill, dentist…) or drop-off of items (lunch, sneakers…) during school time, please come to the office.
    *Visitors refers to persons…
who are not staff members OR
who are not on the pick-up/drop off list for students

In order to keep our student files current, please let the office know if there are any changes to the pick-up/drop off list.
As well, due to staff on call and new staff in the school, not everyone may know you, so do not be surprised or offended if a school staff member approaches you to ask if you have checked in at the office.
Many thanks for your cooperation with our new safety requirements.  Your child’s safety is our top priority.
